Fairport Farmers Market

About the Fairport Farmers' Market

The Fairport Farmers' Market was started in the mid 1970s by then Village Trustee Patricia Knapp, and continues to be sponsored by the Village of Fairport.

The market has grown and evolved, and now hosts an average of 60 vendors each week in the height of the season. It is well known and respected statewide, and has been seen internationally on a Food Network show segment, and mentioned in the book The Artichoke Trail.

A Saturday trip to the market is the custom for many locals not only for the produce and other goods, but also as a popular place to mingle with neighbors and friends.

What Our Vendors Say

"The Fairport Market is big enough to give you a nice variety of products and produce, but small enough to make you feel like family."
Jenn Moss Runkle

"Quaint, abundant and local"
Jessica & Brian Beh - Raindance Harvest

"I have been a vendor at the Fairport Farmers Market since 1986. The diversity of products and vendor knowledge is second to none. The Fairport Farmers Market is a family event that brings consumers and agricultural businesses together."
Kevin Maloney

"Great fun, great food, and great people make Fairport the best market around."
Nate Savage - Sunscape Farms

"If folks really started to think about how far removed they actually are from the food products they consume every day, and the thousands of miles most of that food travelled to get to them, it might scare them a little. But there is nothing scary about meeting the farmers in Fairport on a Saturday morning. You'll get the freshest possible food, grown within 50 miles of where you live, make friends with the farmers, and get to start calling yourself a real 'Localvore'."
Drew Zantopp - Zantopia Herb Gardens

"It is a market with personality...a place of warmth where a customer and vendor become "one family". It is the level of personal care that make it so. The market is lively and friendly. It is interesting, it is full of colour and a variety of unusual products. I love to come and don't want to leave and all that is traded there is of top quality."

What Our Patrons Say

"The perfect Saturday -- A walk to the Village for breakfast followed by a visit to the Farmer's Market for food, flowers and the chance to visit with friends old and new."
Ron and Sue Roberts

"Going to the Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings is a cherished tradition for us. We love the atmosphere, being able to catch up with neighbors and friends, and getting great local products from people in our own community. We also like to use fresh herbs and produce in our menus, and there is no place better to shop."
Matt and Stephanie Laurence
(The Green Lantern Inn)

"On my yearly visits (to Fairport), I make it a point to visit the market. It is a tradition my dad and I enjoy."
Karen Speedy Altergott

"We have been enthusiastic supporters of the Fairport Farmers' market since its beginning. We believe in buying fresh and local. The Fairport market has quality and variety that is next to none. Over the years relationships are developed between farmers and customers that make the experience so much more than "shopping"."
John and Jean Cedarleaf

"It's like having a farm in your own back yard! Fresh produce, hand made products and friendly faces, what a way to start a weekend!"
Lori Mulligan
