Tree Board Investigating Ways to Address Emerald Ash Borer Problem

The Village of Fairport counts over 250 Ash Trees in our inventory. The health of these trees is a top concern to the Tree Board, particularly with respect to the Emerald Ash Borer problem present in our area. As a result, the Tree Board is actively investigating ways to address the ash borer problem and is generating a mangement plan for the Ash Trees so that we can protect this valuable asset. We are investigating the options available for managing our trees in order to keep them healthy, including possible grants available to pay for such.

To learn more details about the Tree Board's current activities regarding the Emerald Ash Borer problem, please read the Tree Board Minutes. For more information on the Emerald Ash Borer problem in our state, please visit the NY State DEC's information page  http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/7253.html.
